Anthea Darychuk from Mining Shared Value along with Dr. Karen Travers from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business will be presenting our collaborative research project on the role of Aboriginal businesses in the Canadian mining industry. Our presentation is titled "Understanding Canada's Aboriginal Business Landscape" and will focus on the current state of Aboriginal business involvement in one of Canada's most important industries.
Our research highlights the best practices for how both Aboriginal suppliers and mining procurement staff are building partnerships and developing stronger relationships between industry and the Aboriginal business community.
This national study has identified the central business case for increasing procurement from Aboriginal suppliers, and we will be speaking about our findings on Wednesday's panel at 3:30.
