Venture leader Jeff Geipel presented a Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) seminar, at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. The event was organized by the Centre for Social Responsibility In Mining (CSRM), one of the seven centres that make up the SMI. 

The seminar examined the role that local purchases of goods and services by mining companies can have in creating economic and social development in host countries. It also examined the local procurement business case for mining companies, by showing how local procurement helps companies to obtain a social license to operate.
